How long does a typical photoshoot session last?
Most photoshoots last 30-60 minutes and can be custom tailored to an individual clients time needs. For example, a LinkedIn portrait shoot would take 10-30 minutes depending on how many photos the client needs and a modeling portfolio may be an hour or more based on how many locations and outfits are requested.
How many photos are included in each session?
Usually clients can expect 30 edited images for every hour of actual shooting time. Since each session is customized to the individual needs of the client the actual count of the images may very.
Do you deliver all the images taken during a session?
I don’t and here is why. Part of the creative editing process is determining what images are “up to snuff”, this protects both the photographers brand as well as the client. Any photos that are out of focus, hazy, under/overexposed, test shots, duplicate images, or candid shots that contain unflattering expressions, postures or gestures are eliminated from the editing lineup. This also ensures that the client is not bombarded with 5 of the same images that are hardly different from each other. If a client feels as if they need a specific image that was left out for the above reasons, they are welcome to ask if if they can receive and edited copy. Generally as long as there is not any serious problem with the image, the request will be granted.
How are my photos delivered?
After the editing is completed, photos are delivered as JPEG files via Google Drive on a private folder where they can be viewed and downloaded at the clients convenience for up to 2 years. JPEG is the standard for most applications such as printing a hard copy, sharing via social media and email, uploading to the internet, or displaying on a website.
Do you provide hardcopies of photos?
Yes! For an additional fee, photos are printed in a variety of sizes and finishes via AWS and delivered to you by UPS. Contact me for pricing and details. Expect 1-2 weeks turnaround time in addition to the quoted editing time.
Does the photographer suggest locations or am I expected to provide them?
The photographer has a list of popular locations around Northern California that are based on prior engagements. Please note that not every location is available year round and site fees or restrictions may apply. The additional fees are often imposed by the local governing authority for parking and or photography permits. Clients are encouraged to suggests locations as this will help to better personalize each session.
